“A great talent from the UK…” Gilles Peterson

Ever since releasing two singles and an album with Soul Jazz Records back in the mid-’90s, Jessica has been quietly and resolutely following her star as keyboard player/composer.

Her self-produced album ‘film’ (MELT 2000) was groundbreaking jazztronica; her 10″ on People ‘The Name Of Fela Will Always Stand For Freedom’ a diamond-hard chunk of afro-groove; check the small print and you’ll find her all over vinyl and CDs by artists as diverse as Joey Negro (Sunburst Band and many others), Alex Attias (Catalyst, Mustang, Beatless), Big Bang, UFO, Marque Gilmore’s Drum FM, Spooky, Juliet Roberts and Heliocentrics.

She’s currently playing with Emanative (check the amazing ‘Space’ album and the soon-come remix album ‘Time’ on Futuristica), The Annabel Lee Trio with Richard E, the Demis Roussos rock project, funk-rockers The Killer Meters and singer-songwriter Sam Lewis (KT Tunstall), and preparing for the release of the forthcoming acoustica CD ‘Jessica Lauren Four’.
