We kick things off with two brilliant tracks from two of our current ‘favourite things’, namely Ben Lamdin’s Skeleton’s project “Smile” and The Souljazz Orchestra‘s recent Strut LP “Rising Sun”, before moving swiftly through some rediscovered gems straight off the shelf, and finally finishing things off nicely with a touch of Afrobeat from the mighty Fela.

For just over a year Blackclassical has been churning out a string of quality mixes through his WordPress blog and more recently his internet radio shows on Space Invader Radio, mixing up rare (and not so rare) tracks from the deeper, spiritual end of the jazz spectrum. This 60 minute plus selection of heavy hitters showcases just some of the gems in his collection.

Brand new Mukatusku made the cut though as did something fresh from the Contemporary Noise Quintet. The last track isn’t a fluke, after four years at Proud Camden, the jam session and the venue have unfortunately parted ways but we’re in the midst of trying to sort something else out so bear with us. The live session will return.
